HOKA Continues the “Snoafer” Trend with New Speed Loafer

Presenting a strong contender against New Balance’s polarising 1906L loafer, Hoka has unveiled its very own take on the “snoafer” for the upcoming Spring Summer season.
French running experts Hoka are drifting away from their usual gorp-focused design approach to dip their ultra-cushioned toes in the contemporary loafer game by way of a new crossover style dubbed the “Speed Loafer”.
From the mudguard down, the Speed Loafer is still very much a HOKA shoe, borrowing the comfort-first exaggerated midsole from Hoka’s popular Speedgoat 5 trail runner, retained alongside a custom Vibram rubber sole unit that props up the tonal suede mudguard and smooth leather upper.
Rather then the traditional beefroll-esque makeup favoured by New Balance, HOKA looks to the timeless tassel loafer for its own interpretation, ingeniously using the central feature to stow a subtle, single-toggle lacing system.
The HOKA Speed Loafer retails at $185 USD and is set to release on Friday, January 31st via the HOKA website.
