Whilst Nigo is preoccupied with pushing the Nike Air Force 3 as the “it” shoe of 2025, the artist’s indie brainchild Human Made is teaming up with Clark’s to deliver two new Wallabee-derived footwear styles to see in the new year.
Surprisingly, this is the first time that Human Made is collaborating with Clark’s, despite founder Nigo being a fan of the brand since before Human Made was even conceived.
In the late 90’s, when BAPE was still under Nigo’s direction, the designer went as far to create his own moc toe style dubbed the Manhunt, before BAPE officially partnered with Clarks in 2020 (post Nigo) to consummate the the classic Wallabee construction with the Manhunt’s signature rippled sole.
In the first official Nigo x Clark’s crossover, the designer sticks with the concept of reworking the Wallabee’s sole unit, opting for a high-walled wedge beneath sandy suede uppers, finalised with “Human Made” debossing spread over the front of each foot and “the future is the past” following suit across the heel collar sections.
The second silhouette featured in the collaboration speaks to Nigo’s Japanese roots and love for vintage workwear, bringing about a cozy interpretation of the classic engineer boot, reimagined in Clark’s maple suede with real shearling interiors and more of the same branding stacked along the rear of the shaft.
The Clark’s x Human Made collection is available now via Human Made Japan, ahead of a global release on January 8th via Clark’s.
