Release Date: May 9, 2024

Supreme has unveiled the latest collaboration to arise from its Spring/ Summer 2024 campaign, stepping away from the hoipolloi surrounding feature works with Nike or the various accessories that receive red & white branding, instead choosing to shed light on niche 90’s band The Melvins.

The Melvins emanate from Montesano, Washington and are widely heralded as great proponents of the early grunge/ sludge metal movement. Still going strong today, the current Melvin’s lineup is comprised of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, Steven Shane McDonald and Coady Willis, with Mr. Crover and Osborne acting as mainstays of the group since its inception in 1983.

The melophiles and middle aged of Supreme’s melting pot community will find this collection particularly enticing, as it features various references and artworks from the Melvins discography, dating all the way back to the early 1990’s with studio albums Bullhead, Houdini and Stoner Witch, alongside the band’s 1989 release Ozma/ Gluey Porch Treatments.

For the most part, Supreme has chosen to display the colourfully named (and natured) album covers on equally vibrant hoodies and tees. Supreme also honours true 90’s wardrobe staples such as the slouchy striped polo and BDU fatigue jacket, where cameos from the Melvins’ two-headed dog mascot feature on 6-panel caps and a pillow made by Medicom toys.

Supreme x The Melvins will be available this Thursday, May 9th at 11:00 am EST on Supreme.com and the brand’s various locations around the globe.
