Upping the ante on their Spring Summer 2024 season, Supreme have revealed a daring new collection with MM6 Maison Margiela spanning clothing, skate decks, bike chains and hairpieces alike releasing this week.
MM6 is a diffusion line of Maison Margiela, the luxury fashion house founded by esteemed Belgian designer Martin Margiela in 1988.
</br>
MM6 Maison Margiela was established in 1997 as a complementary range to the high end work of Maison Margiela, with MM6 focused on innovative construction with a playful and subversive twist.
</br>
This irreverent spirit can be seen throughout this whole Supreme x MM6 Margiela collection on pieces including the trompe l'oeil printed box logo printed t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts plus infinity Hanes tank tops which double over on themselves to make one double-layered piece.
The ethos of these and pieces including a co-branded blonde hair piece presented as part of the collab appears to not be "Why?" but "Why not?"
</br>
In an era defined by exaggerated opulence, Martin Margiela challenged expectations by presenting deconstructed tailoring and often employing recycled or humble materials.
The full collection spans a mix of high and low cothings pieces including a patchwork design Faux Fur Coat, Washed Cotton Three Piece Suit, Varsity Jacket constructed from mismatched split panels and more including hoodies, trompe l'oeil box logo t-shirts, hoodies, painter pants and more.
Accessories for the collab include usual suspects such as a monochromatic painted Camp Cap bearing a subtle Supreme box logo design on the front and the Margiela numbers on the back as well as co-branded Hanes tanks and Crew Socks, plus a set of graphic skate decks.
Less expected options include a blonde Wig, printed wallet designed to look like a folded Supreme receipt and a branded Kryptonite® Chain + Disc Lock.
The Supreme x MM6 Margiela collection will be available alongside Week 7 of Supreme Spring Summer 2024 from this Thursday, 28th March in the UK, US and Europe and Saturday, 30th March in Asia from the brand’s webstore and select physical locations.
