Whilst Junya Watanabe writes a and Sacai continues to , the latest brand to build bridges with the workwear world is Fendi, who have just released a collaboration with heritage American boot brand Red Wing.
First unveiled during Fendi’s Spring Summer 2025 women’s show, the project comes just in time to celebrate the respective 100th and 120th anniversaries of Fendi and Red Wing.
Another master stroke from Kim Jones, the boots mark one of the final big releases from the designer’s tenure as Fendi Women’s Artistic Director after departing from the brand late last year.
The “rugged luxury” aesthetic present in Fendi’s debut Red Wing collab was described as “real” by Kim Jones when first unveiled in October and is a tasteful example of the brands’ shared affinity for timeless design and lasting quality.
Working on Red Wing’s Classic Moc boot, Fendi updates the blue-collar design with luxury flair, making sure to add its signature monogram branding, along with shiny gilt eyelets and heel detailing over a choice of soft beige or sienna brown leather.
The production process begins in Fendi’s Tuscany headquarters, where its in-house artisans hand-thread the iconic “FF” logo (done specially in Fendi’s selleria stitching) to the leather uppers, before they are sent to Red Wing’s factory in Minnesota to be finished and hand-sewn to characteristic Vibram outsoles.
Priced at $1,450 USD, the Fendi x Red Wing Classic Moc Boot is available now via Fendi.
