Noah’s latest Barbour collaboration is set to release this week and sticking with the can’t-lose formula of fusing rugged English charm with Noah’s “skater prep” outlook, the firms reconvene over renamed icons and ancillary graphic staples that aim to evoke the feeling of a breezy Spring break along the respective eastern coastlines both brands call home.
As we’ve come to expect from the five Noah x Barbour collaborations released since 2020, Noah has delved into Barbour’s extensive archive and emerged with one of the brand’s most sought-after editions, updating the jacket known to archivists as the “Spey” with a lightweight fabric redux and pastel-hued palettes inspired by beach huts and rocky shorelines.
Speaking on the heritage label’s relationship with Noah, Barbour’s Director of Menswear Ian Bergin commented:
“Noah is a brand with a really authentic feel, rooted in their love of—and immersion in—surf, skate, and music subculture. This free-thinking spirit has been carefully applied to signature Barbour archive designs, resulting in a playful, easy-going, and respectful take on our menswear legacy.”
While prototypical Spey jackets were introduced in the early 1980s as the perfect companion for waist-deep anglers, Noah recognizes the ‘go anywhere, do anything’ appeal that modern Barbours are cherished for, bestowing the article with a more literal title - the “Casual Wader Jacket” that speaks to the versatility of a garment remaining packed with functional features and brimming with outdoor heritage.
The Bedale has become a constant in Noah’s ongoing partnership with Barbour and shifting away from the neppy wool iterations the brands introduced last November, Noah delivers a fresh take on the jacket in a pink-based madras pattern that’s mellowed out by Barbour’s signature brown corduroy collar.
Like the Casual Wader Jacket, the Noah x Barbour Bedale features embroidered logos at the lower flap pockets, with a blown-up version applied to the back interior.
Not forgetting its duty as one of modern streetwear’s greats, Noah also presents two graphic tees with the Barbour name attached, alongside a sweatshirt and hoodie featuring raglan sleeves designed to layer effortlessly with Noah and Barbour’s headline jackets.
The latest Noah x Barbour collaboration drops this Thursday, February 27th, via selected retailers and the Noah and Barbour online stores.
