Once again showing why they’ve remained at the peak of minimalist fashion for nearly 40 years, A.P.C. is partnering with ASICS for an expansive collection of tennis-inspired footwear and apparel that’s set to launch early next month.
This latest outing is the most comprehensive between ASICS and A.P.C. to date, comprising suitable examples of true performance gear that don’t look out of place, even when off-court.
The collection is effectively split in two halves:
The first is a 20-piece performance range suitable for professional athletes, while the second covers the more familiar lifestyle applications of both brands, spanning 30 items including two colourways of ASICS’ most important silhouette of the decade so far.
A.P.C.’s takes on ASICS’ Gel Kayano 14 are as standard as it gets, coming in navy or white mashups highlighted by silver accents and low-key branding notes that materialise on the lace charms and heel counters, where A.P.C. co-opts ASICS’ spiral logo into the primary initial of its three-letter moniker.
Meanwhile, the on-court collection prioritises function without sacrificing form, offering 20 pieces designed with performance in mind.
Expect base layer tops and tracksuits for men and women, alongside co-branded accessories like sweatbands and caps that all come in shades of deep blue and white, with select gradient designs incorporating flashes of soft pink.
The on-court section is also host to two footwear models built specifically for world-class tennis players dubbed the Gel Resolution and the Solution Speed FF3.
Akin to A.P.C.’s Gel Kayano 14s, the shoes come equipped with co-signed branding placements, applied to appropriate colour schemes that adhere with even the strictest of dress codes abided by in professional tennis.
Dropping worldwide on Saturday, April 5, the latest ASICS x A.P.C. collaboration will be available via both brands’ websites and select physical stores.
