After spending over two years on ice, the joint streetwear powerhouse of Stüssy x Denim tears is finally returning for the Spring 25 season.
The latest effort from Denim Tears and Stüssy picks up where the brands left off in 2022 by further exploring Tremaine Emory’s personal experiences growing up Jamaica, Queens, NYC, this time riffing off the card game “Spades” and an ideal world where the school system fostered creativity, as opposed to stifling it.
Running with the subverted school uniform theme that has real world applications, especially in America where most students are free to wear what they want, Stüssy & Denim Tears have created a 17-piece collection filled with blazers, flat-front chinos and other contemporary prep staples bearing characteristic collab motifs such as the SS-linked cotton wreath logo and Denim Tears’ Pan African-American flag.
Stüssy’s signature collage approach to graphic tees is evidenced on the above design, where artwork from civil rights advocate Annie Lee features alongside wordplay from the respective brands.
References to the Spades card game come to life on a black cardigan adorned with buttons styled as playing card suits, alongside a green belt decorated with a line of spades.
Outerwear hitters include a workwear/ varsity jacket crossover featuring various patches and words of power, where both brands’ appreciation for more classical menswear is shown with the “spade houndstooth” pattern duffle coat.
The latest Stüssy x Denim Tears collaboration will be available this Friday, February 14th via Denim Tears online store and physical location in NYC.
It is currently unclear whether Stüssy will be stocking the collection.
